The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, and four of his children have died in a road accident in Bauchi State.

The accident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening at Yalwan Duguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the Bauchi State Government on Sunday, the deceased children were identified as Hajara, Usman, Rukayya and Maryam.

Another son, Suleiman, reportedly survived the crash.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed sadness over the deaths, describing the incident as a monumental loss to the state.

The governor described Duguri as a dedicated public servant who contributed to improving access to healthcare, particularly for less privileged residents.

He also acknowledged Duguri’s role in advancing the state’s health contributory management system and providing medical support to pilgrims during pilgrimage exercises in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed said the tragedy was particularly painful because Duguri was not only a valued public servant but also his close friend and classmate.

He prayed for the recovery of the surviving son and for the deceased to rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

The governor also urged residents to support the bereaved family with prayers and compassion.
