Former President of The Gambia, Yahya jammeh did not leave the country he had ruled for 22years without the help of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose private jet was used to transport the former ruler and his family into exile.
It was gathered that Tinubu’s VP-CBT Falcon private jet came as the only option to ferry the dictator out of Banjul to his choice of country where he is going on exile.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the jet before now has been in the possession of President Alpha COnde of Guinea who had to put a call through to the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress before the flight was scheduled for the trip.
Sources in The Gambia confirmed that not until Jammeh agreed to leave Banjul on Saturday night, President Conde who is a close friend of Tinubu managed to secure the use of the jet.
Before the approval, it was learnt that Tinubu gave a single condition stating why the aircraft should only be used for.
He said, “If it will facilitate the quick exit of Jammeh and lead to the restoration of peace and democracy in The Gambia”.
