The National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sultan Bello, has resigned from the party with immediate effect.
Bello announced his decision in a resignation letter dated September 24, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the Ja’oji Gyadi Gyadi Arewa Ward in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
The ADC chieftain said he arrived at the decision after “extensive consultations, careful consideration, and deep personal reflection.”
He expressed appreciation to the party for giving him the opportunity to serve, saying his time in the ADC provided him with valuable relationships, experiences and lessons.
Bello also thanked former Rivers State Governor and his principal, Rotimi Amaechi, for his guidance, trust and support during his time in the party.
“I would like to express my profound appreciation to my principal, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, CON, for his guidance, trust, support, and the opportunity to work alongside him,” he said.
He also appreciated the leadership, stakeholders, members and supporters of the ADC for allowing him to contribute to the party’s activities.
Bello subsequently requested that his resignation be accepted and that his name be removed from the party’s membership records with immediate effect.
His resignation comes as political parties and their members intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
