A significant milestone unfolded on Monday as residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency witnessed the initiation of the construction of two crucial roads led by their House of Representatives representative, Hon. Babajimi Benson.
The initiative, driven by the aim to boost infrastructure development, promises to elevate the overall quality of life for the area’s residents.
Taking to his Facebook page, the lawmaker highlighted that the completion of the Offin/Oreta and Lucky Fibre roads would significantly improve commuting for residents.
The Offin/Oreta road, situated in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, spans an impressive 13 kilometers, while the Lucky Fibre road, located in Ikorodu North, acts as a bypass to Odogunyan along the Ikorodu-Isagamu route.
Upon completion, these roads, complemented by the installation of solar street lights, are expected to bring substantial benefits to over 51 Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the vicinity.
In the last six years, the lawmaker has successfully completed a total of 38 roads in the federal constituency.
The completion of these roads is anticipated to significantly reduce travel time to Lagos and Banana Islands, with the journey estimated to take just 20 minutes via the Offin waterfront jetty terminal, a project initiated by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu.
Hon. Babajimi Benson expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made this initiative possible. He extended appreciation to key stakeholders, including the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Abdulsemiu Kasali, and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency I and II, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye and Hon. Abiodun Moshood. The lawmaker also acknowledged the contributions of various individuals and organizations, including local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders who graced the flag-off ceremony with their presence.
