Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, extended a heart of kindness to a Twitter user in 2017 because they are namesakes.
How did it happen?
The Twitter user, identified as David Adeleke, solicited for assistance to complete the financial requirements he needed to attend a media workshop at Yale University.
In a bid to reach more people and make it formal, he opened a GoFundMe page to try to reach the sum of $3,500 that he needed.
Fortunately for him, the 30BG leader Davido came across the tweet and offered to help out, saying they share the same first and last names.
“We get d same name. I no get choice. DM me,” the singer tweeted.
Recalling how it happened, the Twitter user recently said that what Davido did for him then continues to live in his memory.
According to his post: “Every now and then, I randomly remember this season of my life.”
Checks by BlackBox Nigeria shows that the Twitter user is now an Africa editor at Rest of World, an international outlet covering global technology outside the West.
