By Kogi West Senatorial District lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye moments ago escaped yet another assassination attempt as his convoy was hit by gun shots in broad day light in Lokoja, Kogi State.
It was gathered that the lawmaker was attacked in front of the Kogi State Polytechnic where he had stopped to address his supporters over matters arising in the State.
A report by Tribune Online has it that the unknown gunmen emerged from the NATACO end of the road and started firing, aiming at the Senator and his supporters, which resulted in death of about 3 persons.
Melaye who earlier this year survived similar attack in his home has since taken to his Twitter page to narrate the incident, accusing the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of trying to silence him.
He also confirmed that his vehicle was being shot at during the gunfire which also caused traffic gridlock while it lasted.
