Ganiyat Moradehun Sannni (GAMOS)… 15 Years After By Ibrahym Mojeed-Sanni
Today January 19, 2007, 15 Years ago, you departed from this earth. You said your goodbyes to all of us. We cried. We wished it didn’t happen! We asked ALLAH in our naivety, why would you leave us, knowing that we were still young and have not given you your deserved ounje omo? The reality was, your time was up!
Alhamdulillai, 15th Years after, we have cause to thank Almighty ALLAH for His immeasurable and not refundable Mercy and Guidance over us. The good words and positive attributes we hear of you as a peaceful, cheerful and easy-going person whenever your name is mentioned are, indeed, priceless treasures we have.
Alhaja Ganiat Moradehun Sanni, Iya Sule, you not only gave us your children the privilege and honour of bearing a good name – Mojeed-Sanni, we wear like a lapel and cherish the name like a general cherishes his ranks of victorious wars; but ended your journey with the good name etched on your tombstone.
Abraham Lincoln, former American President once said, “I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” In Yoruba’s mythology, a good mother’s prayers are like magic, steeped in mystical and metaphysical powers. There is no gainsaying that we have, we are, and will continue to harvest from your silent and innermost prayers and wishes for us. We in turn, have not stopped asking Almighty ALLAH to forgive you your shortcomings and make Al-Janah your abode in our daily supplications.
“Did HE not find you an orphan? HE sheltered you. And found you wondering. So HE guided you. And HE found you a destitute, so, HE enriched you”, Surat Ad-Dhuha, Qur’an 93: 6 – 8. May Almighty ALLAH, who Has been our shield and guardian in the last 15 Years continue to strengthen this small but increasingly United Family.
Omo ree, ree a gbeyin gbogbo wa ooo.
