President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Nigeria’s security forces following the successful rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State, declaring that no ransom was paid and no concessions were made to secure their freedom.
In a statement released on Friday night, the President described the operation as a major victory for the country’s security agencies, praising the officers and operatives involved for their courage, discipline, and professionalism.
“Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks,” Tinubu said.
“The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made.”
The President also expressed gratitude to the security personnel who carried out the rescue, saying their bravery ensured the victims were returned safely.
“I salute every officer and operative whose courage, discipline, and professionalism made this possible,” he added.
Tinubu also issued a strong warning to terrorist groups and other criminal elements, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to combating insecurity across the country.
“To those who seek to spread fear through terror, know that the Nigerian state will pursue you relentlessly. We will protect our people, defend our communities, and never relent until peace and security prevail across our country,” the President stated.
