Elite Joint Security Team Behind Successful Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers Revealed

A joint team of elite operatives from Nigeria’s security agencies carried out the operation that led to the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted by terrorists in Oyo State.

The operation which came as a result of weeks of tactical strategies and modern warfare intelligence resulted in a massive success rescue operations ever recorded in recent history.

According to a Nigerian journalist, Kayode Badmus, the operation involved personnel from the Nigerian Navy’s Special Boat Service (SBS), the Defence Headquarters Special Operations Force (DHQSOF), including its sniper units, the Nigeria Police Force’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT), and the Department of State Services’ Special Tactical Team (DSS STATT).

A photograph shared after the operation showed a cross-section of Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service operators who participated in the rescue mission.

The successful operation resulted in the safe recovery of all the abducted pupils and teachers without reported casualties among the victims.

Authorities have described the mission as another demonstration of the growing collaboration among Nigeria’s security agencies in tackling terrorism and kidnapping.

The identities of all personnel involved and other operational details were not disclosed for security reasons.

The revelation of the agencies that participated in the rescue comes a day after President Bola Tinubu commended the security forces for the successful operation, praising their courage, discipline, and professionalism in ensuring the victims were rescued alive and unharmed.
