Governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha has appointed Dr. Sam Amadi as the chairman of the Board of Imo State Power and Rural Electricity Agency (IPOREA).
Dr. Sam, who studied Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy University and Law at Harvard University was the former chairman of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Blackbox Nigeria gathered that IPOREA was established to exploit natural gas in Imo state, huge waste and alternative energy resources to generate power to supplement electricity supply in the state, especially rural areas.
Other members of the IPOREA board are; Engr Solomon Opara; Engr. Uzoma Achinanya; Barr. Ani Eke; Engr. Celestine Opurum and Francis Chisa Alaegbu
