The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has banned its operatives from conducting sting operations at night in all its Commands across the country.

The ban was announced by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

The decision was made following the arrest of 69 suspected internet fraudsters by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The suspects were apprehended in a night raid on their residences on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

According to a press statement issued by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Dele Oyewale, many of the suspects have been released after being profiled by the Command.

He said that the profiling of the remaining suspects will be completed without further delay.

The EFCC assured the public that it will not relent in its adherence to the rule of law in the exercise of its mandate.

The Commission also urged the public to report any suspicious activities or transactions to its nearest office or through its hotlines.
