The political and humanitarian circles in Ekiti State were thrown into mourning on Thursday as the news of the death of Rotarian Bola Olu-Ojo broke out.
The former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State and the president of the Rotary Club of Ado-Ekiti died on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 .
A family source confirmed the demise of the respected politician and philanthropist in a statement. “With the total submission to the Almighty, we announce the passing away of our dear Husband, Brother, Uncle, Father, and Grandfather, Hon. Chief Bola Olu-Ojo, who passed on to be with the Saints in the evening of 1st November 2023,” the statement read.
Olu-Ojo was a former commissioner for works and transport in Ekiti State.
He was also a prominent member of the Rotary International, where he served as the president of the Ado-Ekiti branch and contributed to various humanitarian projects.
The PDP and the family of the deceased are yet to disclose the cause of his death and the arrangements for his burial.
His death has been described as a great loss to Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
