Dangote Petroleum Refinery has refuted reports claiming it increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), insisting that its ex-depot rate remains unchanged.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday, the 650,000-barrel-per-day facility dismissed speculations that it had raised petrol prices by N75 to N1,350 per litre.
The company clarified that no adjustment had been made to its pricing, maintaining that its current ex-depot rate still stands.
The denial comes amid ongoing volatility in Nigeria’s fuel market, driven largely by fluctuations in global crude oil prices, which hovered around $95 per barrel on Wednesday.
Over the past two months, retail petrol prices across the country have surged significantly, rising from about N900 per litre in early February 2026 to between N1,365 and N1,375 per litre, intensifying pressure on consumers and businesses.
