Fatai Okoya, a man who identifies himself as the first child of billionaire businessman Razaq Akanni Okoya, has publicly appealed to his father for forgiveness and reconciliation after more than four decades apart.
Fatai made the appeal in an open letter circulating on social media, expressing regret over their prolonged separation and asking for an opportunity to rebuild their relationship.
“Dad, it has been over four decades, and I am speaking from the deepest part of my heart when I say, I am truly sorry,” he wrote.
He said he had made previous attempts to reconnect with his father but remained pained by the years they had lost.
Fatai urged the industrialist to put the past behind them, saying he was ready to take the first step towards reconciliation.
“You will always be my father, and I will always be your first child,” he wrote.
However, the letter did not explain what caused their estrangement or provide details of his previous attempts to reach his father.
As of the time of reporting, Okoya had not publicly responded to the appeal.
