Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother following a prolonged illness.
The actress disclosed the sad news on Monday, October 19, 2026, in an emotional tribute shared on her official Instagram page. She said her mother died on Sunday, October 18.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.
Ade prayed for Allah to forgive her mother’s shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the family strength to cope with the loss.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” the actress added.
The actress said her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones.
Ade, who previously shared details of her mother’s health challenges in 2019, said funeral arrangements would be announced later.
Adunni Ade is known for her roles in Yoruba and English-language Nollywood films.
