The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Sunday, announced that 3 of the 256 evacuees from Dubai have tested positive for coronavirus, Blackboxnigeria gathered.
The Health Commissioner, while making the disclosure via Twitter, said the positive evacuees have been moved to one of the isolation centres.
The evacuees have been observing the mandatory 14-day isolation in Lagos, having arrived on May 6.
Subsequently, 176 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in the country, says the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The newly confirmed cases now takes the national tally to 5621.
The confirmed cases and their respective states are ; 95-Lagos, 31-Oyo, 11-FCT, 8-Niger, 8-Borno, 6-Jigawa, 4-Kaduna, 3-Anambra, 2-Edo, 2-Rivers, 2-Nasarawa, 2-Bauchi, 1-Benue, and 1-Zamfara.
The Centre for Disease Control, while making the disclosure via its Twitter handle, Saturday, wrote :
