Alhaji Chief Waheed Rahman Edun, the family head of the Edun family of Ilemba Awori, has been installed as the Jagunmolu of Ete Kingdom, Ojo, Badagry.
The installation carried out by Elete of Ete Kingdom, Ọba Dauda Nofiu Oduowoiya Adaraloye 1, on May 18, 2022, was in recognition of his sterling contributions to the development of the Ete Kingdom.
Celebrating with his Dad on his recognition as Jagunmolu, Idris Rahman wrote on his Facebook page that the honour is well-deserved considering his contributions over time towards development of the community.
“I know you’ve worked hard to reach this point, and I’m so happy that you’ve been recognized for your accomplishment with this new assignment. It is well-deserved,” the proud son said.
Only last month, His Royal Majesty, Oba Nofiu Dauda Oduowoiya (Adaraloye I) celebrated 5 years since he ascended the throne as the Elete of Ete Kingdom.
The monarch, who hails from Mejiwa Compound, in Ilemba Awori is believed to have transformed the Elete traditional institution and the community in general. Amongst the towns and Villages under Ete Kingdom are Ilemba Awori (Araromi, Agbariwo, Ifako, Idoshe), Ilemba Hausa, Egan, Ishagira, Igamo, Onigbongbo, Ojota, Ishagira, Oriwa and Origele.
