Content creator and comedian Carter Efe has defeated rapper Speed Darlington in another celebrity boxing bout, extending his winning run in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing circuit.
Efe defeated Speed Darlington at the Chaos in the Ring event held at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, on Thursday, October 1, as part of Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations.
The victory came five months after Efe defeated street-pop singer Portable by unanimous decision in May. That win saw Efe claim the celebrity boxing title after all three judges scored the three-round contest in his favour.
Speed Darlington had entered Thursday’s bout looking to bounce back after previously losing to Portable in a celebrity boxing contest.
The Efe-Darlington clash was preceded by intense verbal exchanges between both entertainers, including a chaotic press conference where the two traded threats ahead of their meeting.
With the latest victory, Efe has now added Speed Darlington to the list of entertainers he has beaten inside the celebrity boxing ring, following his earlier win over Portable.
The event also featured reality TV star Phyna, who defeated actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday in the women’s celebrity bout.
