With all set for the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) billed to hold in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a closed-door meeting with governors under the party from the Northern region.
It was gathered that the meeting is holding at the president’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Though details of the meeting are still sketchy at the time of filing this report, there are strong feelers that the agenda is centred on the APC special convention to choose the party’s presidential flagbearer.
It would be recalled that the APC Northern governors had backed a power shift to the south for the sake of national interest.
In attendance are Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum and governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bagudu; Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and governor of Plateau State, Simeon Lalong, Abubakar Baduru (Jigawa) and Babagana Zulum (Borno).
Others are Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Bello Matawale (Zamfara), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Yahaya Inuwa (Gombe), Abubakar Bello (Niger), Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, his Kogi State counterpart, Yahaya Bello.
