Blue Lagos has partnered with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) to roll out telemedicine services across 152 riverine and coastal communities in Lagos State.
The agreement emerged from a meeting between Blue Lagos Convener, Mr. Saheed Adesanya, and LASHMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba. Both sides focused on healthcare solutions for underserved communities.
Under the partnership, residents in these communities will access healthcare professionals remotely. The scheme covers medical consultations, referrals, and follow-up care. It removes the distance and transportation barriers that currently block residents from reaching hospitals and clinics.

Adesanya called healthcare a fundamental need for every citizen. He said the partnership ensures riverine and coastal residents are not left behind in accessing quality healthcare. He added that technology bridges existing gaps and brings healthcare closer to the people.
Zamba reaffirmed LASHMA’s commitment to expanding healthcare access across Lagos State. She stressed the role of technology and partnerships in reaching vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
The Telemedicine Scheme targets improved healthcare outcomes for thousands of residents. It aims to reduce barriers to consultation, promote preventive healthcare, and expand access to professional medical support.
Blue Lagos and LASHMA will continue talks on implementation strategy, community sensitization, stakeholder mobilization, and partnership frameworks. These steps will guide the rollout and long-term sustainability of the scheme.
The initiative supports the Lagos State Government’s push for inclusive development, regardless of where residents live.
