Banky W accused of receiving N57M PR contract for President Buhari’s re-election, singer kicks 

Singer turned politician, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W is in the news again and this time he is being alleged of collecting a sum of N57 Million contract to promote President BUhari.

According to a Twitter user, Miriam Shehu, Banky W through his music label which has now been converted into a PR firm got a job to promote Buhari.

Miriam Shehu further narrated that Banky W and his wife, Adesua Etomi got the contract through one Abubakar Ahmed whom they met with in December to sign the deal. 

The accuser explicitly narrated how the top entertainment couple flew an all expense paid business class flight to Abuja on Arik Air to sign the contract.

However in a swift reaction, the EME boss who is running for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives to represent Eric-Osa constituency in Lagos has refuted the claim by twitter user, Mariam Shehu denying ever meeting the person that was mentioned as his link person in the allegation. An enraged Banky W further vowed to take the matter up legally by involving his lawyers whom he said he has notified and sent screen shots of the tweet to. 

“FALSE. COMPLETELY false and untrue. I’ve never met this person, and never collected a dime to do anything for this President. I DARE YOU to show proof of the false stories you are peddling. Why would I be running on an independent party in my own constituency if that was my plan?”

Miriam retreats 

Following Banky W’s threat to drag Miriam Shehu before the court for maligning him, the twitter accuser has now deleted the tweet saying she was doing so to let sleeping dogs lie. According to her while she doesn’t have anything against the singer, she was deleting the tweet to “let sleeping dogs lie”.  

This retreat however came after she had earlier bragged about having more influential lawyers than Banky W. She even boasted about her father being a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Well, I have two SANs on standby including my father to defend me.

As it stands, the matter might have been dropped on Twitter, but we are still observing if the singer will live up to his threat of taking legal action.
