Two men have been detained in Ogun State by the Amotekun Corps for having human skulls.

The two suspects, Busari Aliu, 33, and Adetayo Segun, 34, were detained at Ijebu-Igbo after they were accused of stealing an iron pallet.

David Akinremi, the commander of the Amotekun in Ogun, reported that on November 4, Mr. Ibu Benjamin of the Ayegbami quarters in Agunboye, Ijebu-Igbo, complained to the Amotekun office that the heavy iron pallet belonging to his landlady, Mrs. F. Idowu, had vanished at around 9 am.

The iron, which according to the complainant was valued about N350,000, was allegedly kept on a fenced farm at the specified address.

According to Akinremi, on November 20, the corps apprehended the two suspects as part of their investigation, and they “not only admitted their involvement, but led our operatives to recover the stolen item where it was kept.”

During the examination of their building, Akinremi, a retired police commissioner, asserted that “some pieces of carbonated human skull” were discovered.

He said, “During interrogation, the suspects said they had gone into so many graves in Agunboye burial ground and removed several skulls of buried corpses which they sold to some members of their ritual gang.”

The accused, according to Akinremi, have been taken to the Ogun State Police’s Eleweran headquarters for more investigation and legal prosecution.
