Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has said in a recent interview that he doesn’t enjoy listening to rap music because it is “boring and dead” to him.
The Grammy award-winning artist mentioned in an interview with 10 Magazine that Afrobeats genre is the new Pop, stating how he sold 2 million copies off one song in America. He also mentioned how he has a Diamond record; a feat some American artists haven’t attained.
He said, “I don’t listen to rap. That sh*t is boring and dead now. It’s tired. These guys do the same sh*t, rap on the same beats and same flows.
“No disrespect to nobody. I don’t have anything against rap or any other type of music. I have a lot of rappers as friends, like a lot. So I’m probably the wrong person to say this”, he added.
Wizkid who recently released his 5th studio album, ‘More Love Less Ego’ (MLLE), caught the media attention after he recently unfollowed fellow artistes and influencers from his Instagram account.
