Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala has parted ways with FC Barcelona Femení after a successful 5-year stint at the club.

Oshoala confirmed her exit from the Spanish club in a statement on her Instagram page on Thursday. The 29-year-old will be joining National Women’s Soccer Leagues side Bay FC.

“As I embark on a new journey, I want you to know that @fcbfemeni will always hold a special place in my heart. I will carry with me the memories, lessons and friendships that I have gained during my time here,” she wrote in her farewell message.

Oshoala, who joined FC Barcelona Femení in 2019, became an integral part of the club’s history, contributing to numerous victories and trophy-laden seasons.

She departs Barcelona with four league titles, three Spanish Super Cups and three Copa de la Reina titles. She also won two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles (2020-21, 2022-23) and became the first African woman to score in the Champions League final in 2019 and the first African woman to win the UWCL final in 2021.
