Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has filed a ₦2.55 billion lawsuit against fellow rapper Odumodublvck, accusing him of defamation and harassment for the latter calling him a “sexual abuser”.
He said the conduct damaged his reputation and commercial interests.
According to court documents dated July 7 obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, Blaqbonez, through his lawyers, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, alleged that Odumodublvck engaged in a sustained campaign of defamatory online publications, intimidation and harassment that caused significant reputational and financial harm.
The suit specifically accuses Odumodublvck of repeatedly referring to Blaqbonez as a “sexual abuser” and a “sexual abusing bastard” in social media posts.
Blaqbonez’s legal team described the statements as false, malicious and defamatory, arguing that they have adversely affected the rapper’s personal and professional standing.
In the lawsuit, Blaqbonez is seeking a declaration that the publications are defamatory and an order permanently restraining Odumodublvck from making or encouraging further defamatory statements.
He is also asking the court to compel the rapper to delete the alleged offending posts, publish a public retraction and apology on his verified social media accounts for at least 30 consecutive days, and direct his supporters to refrain from harassing or intimidating him.
The rapper is demanding ₦2 billion in general damages for alleged injury to his reputation and goodwill, an additional ₦500 million in aggravated damages over what his lawyers describe as repeated and malicious conduct, as well as ₦50 million to cover legal costs.
The legal filing also shows allegations of harassment, assault, battery, unlawful interference and threats to Blaqbonez’s safety.
However, these claims have not been tested in court.
The lawsuit follows a dramatic escalation in the long-running feud between the two rappers.
In recent weeks, Odumodublvck publicly accused Blaqbonez of sexual abuse without providing evidence and challenged him to take legal action.
Blaqbonez denied the allegations, describing them as false and defamatory, and vowed to seek legal redress instead of responding publicly.
