Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced a free music concert scheduled to hold in Osogbo on Friday, as political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The governor made the announcement on Wednesday via his X handle, describing the event as a “Get Out to Vote Concert” aimed at uniting residents across political divides.
According to him, the concert will take place at the Technical Field in Osogbo on April 24, with free entry for all residents.
Adeleke said the event will feature his son, B-Red, alongside a lineup of popular Nigerian artistes including Peruzzi, CDQ, Shina Peters and May D, among others.
“This free concert is for everyone in Osun State… no political divide, just pure Osun energy,” the governor said, urging residents to attend and participate.
The announcement comes shortly after the governor appointed his nephew, Davido, as Head of Youth Mobilisation for his re-election campaign, a move seen as part of efforts to engage young voters ahead of the August 8 election.
Observers say the planned concert reflects a growing trend of blending entertainment with political mobilisation, particularly among youth audiences.
The event is expected to draw large crowds, as excitement builds across the state in the lead-up to the polls.
