After a successful organisation of an Inter-School Debate program, the publisher of youth focused Waves Magazine have promised to make the initiative a yearly event.
The debate which was organised to gear the development of learning and restoration of hope in younger generation was put together by the Board of Waves Magazine.
The debate event had in attendance five major secondary schools Homat Private school, Ikorodu Senior Grammar school, Rockford International School, SmartKids Academy, Accesspoint Secondary school.
High point of the event was when the winner of the debate competition was finally announced and the lead speaker from Homat International School broke into tears before the panel of judges, co-debators and invited guests.
Chairman of the Day, Alhaji Ganiu Abiru who was obviously impressed by the outcome of the competition donated a token of N100,000 to the participants.
Speaking to BlackBox Nigeria, the Publisher, Azeez Lamina, thanked all who contributed to the success of the event.
He said the token donated by the Chairman will be shared between Homat Private School, winner of the competition and other schools that partook in the debate.
He also disclosed that the event will now be held yearly so as to celebrate the younger generation in support of the nation building.
He further said the competition will subsequently extend to involving more schools in Lagos State.
