Subair Enitan, a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, has been hospitalized after she completed the hand wash-a-thon to break the Guinness World Records for 58 hours.

It was learnt that the 200-level Linguistics and African Languages at the school was rushed to the university clinic following the completion of the marathon on Monday.

Before this, the sophomore had said that she felt fulfilled when she learnt that her mother and friends are in the crowd.

“I felt I should give up several times, especially when I was pressed, I was like can I go through this thing? That my mum and my friends are in this crowd I feel very fulfilled to complete this task right in front of her,” said the lead of a brand that works around laundry services.

The development was announced to journalists by Abbas Akinremi, the president of the Student Union Government (SUG) of the school.

“She ended the wash-a-thon in the early hours of Monday and we took her to the university clinic,” Abbas said.

Enitan, who completed the 58-hour hand-washing marathon at exactly 12:05am on Monday, November 27, has announced the commencement of the attempt since Friday but she added another eight hours to it thereby exceeding her set limit.
