The Orusuen of Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom, in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Sir Emmanuel Okumagba (JP), has passed away.

Chief Gold Eburu, the Otata Of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, confirmed the development at a press briefing on Sunday.

Eburu said the monarch “had travelled to join his ancestors”, adding that the final rites of passage would be announced later.

“The Council of Chiefs has directed that, in line with the customs and traditions of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, no ceremonies such as burials, marriages and others would take place within the kingdom until after the celebrations of the final rites of the Okumagba The Second,” he was quoted to have said in a report by The PUNCH.

On November 16, 2020, the deceased Okumagba The Second was installed as the Orusuen (King) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom. His selection was subsequently confirmed by the Delta State Government, and he was later presented with a Staff of Office.
