Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage-four cancer, with his daughters making an emotional appeal for urgent medical intervention.

The actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, disclosed their father’s condition in separate emotional videos shared on Instagram on Monday, appealing to hospitals, cancer specialists and individuals with access to appropriate treatment to help save him.

Kira said Ogogo’s cancer had reached stage four and that the hospital treating him had informed the family that it could no longer continue chemotherapy.

She appealed to anyone capable of providing treatment to contact the family, stressing that they were not seeking financial donations.

According to her, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, had been assisting the family by paying the actor’s medical bills.

Lima also appealed for help, saying her father’s condition had deteriorated and that hospitals had reportedly refused to continue treating him.

She said the family only became aware of the seriousness of his condition about three weeks ago, adding that his appearance had initially not suggested that he was seriously ill.

«“Please, I’m begging you. If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything. We’re not here to ask for money,” Lima said.»

The distressed daughter also pleaded with medical professionals and facilities willing to take on the actor’s case to come forward.

“Please, I can’t watch my daddy die. I can’t,” she said in the emotional video.

Kira similarly urged anyone with knowledge of a hospital, specialist or treatment option capable of helping her father to contact the family.

The family’s appeal has since generated widespread concern and messages of support from fans, colleagues and members of the public.

Ogogo, 66, is a veteran of the Yoruba film industry whose acting career spans more than four decades. He has featured in hundreds of films and remains one of the prominent figures in Nigerian indigenous cinema.

As of the latest reports, the family has not publicly disclosed the specific type of cancer or the hospital where the actor is receiving treatment.
