A lecturer at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) identified as Tony Asekhunho is under scrutiny following accusations of sexual assault involving female students in exchange for grades.

One student on the X platform @AlexVivyNnabue revealed that Tony Asekhuno allegedly failed her in logic three times intentionally, resulting in a rape incident in his office during her final year. Despite the assault, she was awarded a passing grade of C. She disclosed that her repeated failures were attributed to her refusal to engage in a romantic relationship with him.

In another distressing account, @theshortiesalon also shared a humiliating experience where the lecturer publicly insinuated a sexual relationship between him and a student. During a late arrival to class, Asekhuno reportedly shouted, “Is it because I fucked you last night that’s why you’re coming late?” The student, deeply embarrassed, later tearfully confessed to the class that she complied with his advances out of fear of failing for the third time, as it seemed to be the only way to secure a passing grade.

Netizens have reacted to the disturbing allegations that highlight the incidence of sexual misconduct within academic institutions and underscore the urgent need for thorough investigations and accountability measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
