The Home office, United Kingdom has made  significant changes in the visa application of care workers bringing dependants to the country.

The changes barred care and health workers from bringing dependants to the country, an initiative to cut the cost of migrants in the country.

In a statement released through the official X handle of UK home office on Monday, government emphasized the need to enact measures that align with their goal of significantly reducing migration levels by implementing restrictions on the ability of care workers to bring dependents to the UK.

“From today, care workers entering the UK on health and care worker visas can no longer bring dependants.

“This is part of our plan to deliver the biggest ever cut in migration”, the post reads.

The decision to prohibit dependents from accompanying care workers on Health and Care Worker visas shows a notable departure from previous immigration policies.

The post further expressed that 120,000 people who arrived the country last year on health and care worker visa would no longer be eligible under the new rules.
