Two years after deaths, Kobe Bryant, daughter immortalized with statue at crash site

On Wednesday, the world marked the second anniversary of the tragic deaths of late legendary basketballer, Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

A statue of the duo has been erected on the site of their helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, United States.

Created by sculptor Dan Medina, the statue showed Kobe, in his Lakers uniform and with his arm around Gianna, who is also wearing a uniform while holding a basketball by her side.

According to TMZ Sports, at the base of the 160-pound bronze statue is the quote, “Heroes come and go, but legends are forever,” along with the names of all nine victims who perished in the 2020 accident.

One of the greatest basketballers of all time, Kobe and his daughter, Gianna lost their lives when their private helicopter crashed while they were traveling to a teen basketball tournament at Kobe’s Mamba Sports Academy near Thousand Oaks, California. The crash also claimed seven other lives.
