Tiwa Savage named on BBC’s 100 Most Inspirational and Innovative women’s list

BBC 100 list of Inspirational and Innovative women has Ellen Sirleaf, Michelle Bachelet and Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage

Nigerian superstar, Tiwa Savage has been listed on BBC’s 100 Most Inspirational and Innovative women in 2017. The list includes powerful women from different walks of life including Business, Politics, Sports and Entertainment.

The Mavins first lady joins the likes of Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as well as the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet amongst others. According to the BBC, “This year, the women on the list will be part of the 100 Women Challenge, tackling some of the biggest problems facing women around the world.”

37-year-old Tiwa is regarded as the leading female act in Africa and has continued to lend her voice to issues concerning women. She is an ambassador for different brands and only recently dropped a 6-track mixtape, Sugarcane to general acclaim.

The mother of one also has two studio albums to her credit, ‘Once Upon A Time’ (2013) and R.E.D (2015)

The current BBC list, includes 60 women from across the globe who are spreading their voices and are associated with various campaigns regarding global issues, inspiring other women. The remaining 40 women on the list will be named places once the challenge progresses, over a few weeks from now.
