President Bola Tinubu has suspended Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), cited the need for an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into Nuhu’s activities and other senior officials within the authority.

Nuhu was suspended and replaced by Chris Najomo, who assumed the role of Acting Director-General with immediate effect.

Presidential spokesperson Ngelale stated, “Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu has been suspended from office to enable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct an unfettered investigation into the activities of the suspended director-general and other senior officials in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.”

President Tinubu has also directed Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to oversee the recruitment of a substantive vice-chancellor and other principal officers for the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU).

This move follows Tinubu’s earlier decision to sack Kabir Mohammed as the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Tayib Odunowo, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
