The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has disclosed the reason behind his visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Sunday.

The former Lagos governor stated that he was at the State House to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for visiting him in London after his surgery.

Recall Tinubu had undergone two knee surgeries few months ago. One in the United Kingdom–where Buhari paid him a visit, and later at the John Hopkins University hospital in Maryland, United States.

According to the APC stalwart, the visit had nothing to do with politics. It was only a gesture of appreciation towards the President who according to Tinubu, is an “exceptional leader”.

“It’s only to thank the President, first of all, for his visit to my residence in London after the surgery and wishing me well, lifting my spirit and indeed, what an exceptional leader will do to collaborate. So, that’s what I came for and to welcome him back from the trip from Saudi.

“No politics, just courtesy call to thank him in a big way. That’s all,” Tinubu said.

When asked Mr President’s response to the visit, Tinubu explained that Buhari was happy to have him around, noting that he was not compelled to speak on other things they discussed.
