PSG star Lionel Messi has expressed his desire for a possible return to the Camp Nou in the nearest future.

Having signed a two-year contract extension at PSG in August, the Argentine admitted that he would love to help the Catalan giant at some stage of his career.

His departure from his old club at the summer shocked the football world and his undecorated exit was the most controversial during the summer transfer.

However, this didn’t erase his love for his boyhood club. He spoke, during an interview session with Sport, on his wish to become a technical director at a club. Though it is still uncertain whether the club will be Barcelona, but the 34-year-old embrace the possibility of a Barca return.

“Yes. I always said that I would love to be able to help the club. I would love to be a technical secretary at some point. I don’t know if it will be at Barcelona or not. Or if it will be elsewhere,” Messi said during the interview, as reported by Goal.

“If there is a possibility, I would like to contribute again in what I can because it is the club that I love and I would love for it to continue to be good, to continue growing and to continue being one of the best in the world,” he added.

Though the six-time Ballon D’Or winner is struggling to pick form at the Les Parisiens, but he has been influential in PSG’s Champions League campaign. He might be under goal draught for the past eight matches he played, but he contributes, largely, to the team’s stellar performance.

According to Infogol statistics, Messi has 85% complete passes with an average of 41 passes per match. With the likes of Sergio Ramos, Neymar, Mbappe, amomg others, the inclusion of Messi into the star-studded team makes them a threat in this season’s Champions League.
