The campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and the proposed continuation of the Lagos State administration’s development agenda of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has gained fresh attention among Nigerians in Chicago, United States.
The engagement was led by the Director of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Special Duties Committee: Diaspora, Engr. Gbolahan Gbadamosi, during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Diaspora chapter in Chicago.
The event brought together members of the Nigerian community, APC supporters and diaspora stakeholders, including the Chairman of the APC in the United Kingdom, Hon. Tunde Doherty.
Speaking at the event, Gbadamosi urged Nigerians in the diaspora to remain engaged with political developments in Nigeria and use their networks to promote what he described as informed participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He highlighted economic, educational and infrastructure reforms under the Tinubu administration, arguing that continuity would be necessary to achieve the government’s stated development objectives.
Gbadamosi also shifted attention to Lagos, where he advocated for the continuity of the state’s development agenda under Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
According to him, Hamzat’s experience in Lagos politics and governance places him in a position to build on existing policies and programmes in the state.
“Lagos cannot afford experimentation when there is a need to consolidate the gains of development. With Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, a man who understands Lagos and its people, the Forward Lagos Agenda can build on existing foundations and pursue further development,” he said.
Gbadamosi further called for stronger collaboration between diaspora groups and communities in Nigeria, particularly through information-sharing and grassroots engagement.
Doherty, in his remarks, urged Nigerians to remain involved in the democratic process and said the APC should continue to communicate its policies and programmes to citizens at home and abroad.
He also called for support for Tinubu, Hamzat and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Chicago event is part of the diaspora mobilisation activities of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council’s Special Duties Committee: Diaspora.
The inauguration of the Chicago chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Diaspora is expected to expand the campaign’s network among Nigerians living in the United States as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gather momentum.
