The Supreme Court has accepted the Appeal Court’s judgment that favored Nasir Gawuna and rejected the initial decision that purportedly favored Governor Abba Yusuf in the Kano State gubernatorial appeal.

This follows the Court of Appeal’s ruling on November 17th, affirming the election petition tribunal’s decision to oust Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, declaring Dr. Nasiru Gawuna of the APC as the rightful winner.

The three-member panel of the appeal court dismissed Governor Yusuf’s appeal, pointing to concerns related to his party membership.

However, confusion arose on November 21 as the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the court judgment surfaced, revealing inconsistencies in the conclusions, and sparking a sense of unease and anxiety in Kano.
