Nigerian stars Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo have celebrated a memorable season with AS Roma Women after helping the Italian club secure a domestic double in Italy.
The duo played key roles as Roma clinched both the Serie A Femminile title and the Coppa Italia Women trophy, further cementing the club’s dominance in Italian women’s football this season.
Babajide, who joined Roma during the season, contributed with crucial goals and attacking performances as the club battled rivals Juventus and Fiorentina in the title race. Oladipo also impressed after breaking into the first team setup following her arrival from Nigeria.
Roma sealed the Coppa Italia crown with victory over Juventus in the final, completing a successful campaign that saw the club dominate domestic competitions.
The achievement marks another milestone for Nigerian women footballers abroad, with both players now expected to attract greater attention ahead of upcoming international assignments with the Super Falcons.
Babajide, a former Liverpool and Brighton winger, has enjoyed a resurgence in Italy after switching allegiance to Nigeria at international level. Oladipo, meanwhile, is regarded as one of Nigeria’s promising young defensive talents.
The latest success adds to the growing influence of Nigerian players in European women’s football, with several Super Falcons stars enjoying trophy-winning campaigns across top leagues on the continent.
