The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan has praised the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their 1-0 win over Egypt in the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament.
Bolowotan, who saw the much-anticipated game at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon, on Tuesday as part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led Lagos entourage applauded the Nigerian national team for keeping the country’s flag high.
Leicester City midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho won the game for Augustine Eguavoen’s men after he scored a screamer in the first half.
“This has to be one of the most thrilling Super Eagles games I’ve seen in recent times. It was a beautiful match. I am super proud of our boys, they made the country proud,” the excited Bolowotan said.
The Lagos Sports boss was also full of praises for the interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen, saying his tactics brought good results for the Super Eagles.
He further disclosed that Lagos residents can watch the games at different centres in the state as Governor Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos government has provided viewing centres across the state for football lovers.
