Super Eagles Beat South Africa, Qualifies For AFCON2019 Semi Finals
Gernot Rohr men seem unstoppable in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt as they defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to book a spot in he Semi Finals of the competition .
Samuel Chukwueze had put the Super Eagles in the lead at 27th minute of the first half, giving the Nigerian side the bragging rights through out the 45minutes. The victory at the Cairo International Airport for Eagles makes it winning four games out of five games played so far.
The South African side had the better chance of the 2nd half which later earned them a goal by Zungu – a goal which was earlier ruled out as offside but a decision by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) allowed the goal and the game was levelled.
As the match was about to come to an end with hopes of going into Extra time, Super Eagles defender, Ekong drove a free ball from the corner kick into the back of the net, giving his side the winner for the night.
