Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a two-hour ultimatum to Fulani residents in Igboho, Oyo State, demanding the release of persons allegedly abducted in the community.
Igboho delivered the warning during a meeting with Fulani community leaders at the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho, according to a video that has circulated widely on social media.
In the footage, the activist accused some members of the Fulani community of involvement in criminal activities, particularly kidnapping, and urged them to ensure the immediate release of the victims.
He specifically alleged that a heavily pregnant woman was among those kidnapped and claimed that an individual who delivered ransom payments to the abductors was also detained.
Igboho warned that the Fulani leaders had two hours to produce the kidnapped persons or face unspecified consequences.
He further stated that the community was prepared to make sacrifices to secure the victims’ freedom but cautioned that Fulani residents could be expelled from the area if the abductees were not released.
The activist also directed remarks at the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area, urging him to be vigilant in the handling of security matters within the community.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and Fulani community leaders had not publicly responded to the allegations or the ultimatum.
