In a rather embarrassing moment during the ministerial screening process, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule from Lagos West Senatorial District was caught on camera sleeping.

The incident occurred while she was partaking in the assessment of ministerial nominees on Tuesday.

Senator Adebule, a seasoned politician, had previously held the position of the 15th deputy governor of Lagos State from 2015 to 2019.

She is also noteworthy as the sixth woman to occupy the deputy governor’s office in Lagos, as in 2023, she took on the role of Senator for Lagos West.

The footage of the incident quickly spread across various media platforms, drawing significant attention and raising concerns about the engagement and diligence of lawmakers during important proceedings.

Many citizens and political observers expressed disappointment and criticized the senator for what they perceived as a lack of attentiveness to her duties.

Representing a significant constituency, the Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Adebule has been entrusted with the responsibility of serving her constituents and the nation at large.

However, her apparent inattentiveness during the ministerial screening process has prompted debates about the seriousness and dedication of elected officials.

An Instagram user , ufomma wrote, “meanwhile, this senator has been sleeping since the screening started at about 1:30pm. She must have worked overnight “
