Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, on Thursday commissioned five major community development projects across Ikorodu Division, reinforcing efforts to improve healthcare delivery, education infrastructure and vocational development in the area.
The projects, facilitated by the senator, include a new Primary Health Centre in Elepe, classroom blocks in three primary schools, and an Arts and Craft Centre in Igbogbo.
The commissioned projects are: Primary Health Centre, Elepe, Methodist Primary School, Gberigbe, Primary School, Akaun, Model Primary School, Shagamu Road, Arts and Craft Centre, Igbogbo.
The projects were officially handed over to the benefiting communities and relevant local government authorities for use and maintenance.
The Primary Health Centre in Elepe is expected to enhance access to healthcare services for residents, while the classroom projects at Methodist Primary School, Gberigbe; Primary School, Akaun; and Model Primary School, Shagamu Road are designed to provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
The Arts and Craft Centre in Igbogbo is expected to support vocational training, creativity and skills acquisition, particularly among young people in the community.
The commissioning forms part of Senator Abiru’s constituency development initiatives aimed at addressing critical infrastructure needs and improving the quality of life of residents across Lagos East Senatorial District.
Residents and community leaders have expressed optimism that the projects will contribute significantly to social and economic development in the benefiting communities.
