Rivers Guber: LP Loses Election Petition

The petition tribunal of the Rivers State Governorship Election has struck out the petition filed by Beatrice Itubo, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Recall that Itubo had approached the court to challenge the declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Simnalaye Fubara as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the State.

As of now, the hearing is currently ongoing in a tribunal sitting in Abuja over the petition by LP and APC’s Tonye Cole.

Beatrice Itubo, who wants the tribunal to declare her winner of the polls, came third in the election.
