Residents React As FERMA Begins Palliative Works On Ikorodu-Sagamu Road
Relief seems to be on the radar for residents of Ikorodu as the popular Ikorodu-Sagamu road that has suffered neglect is getting attention.
BlackBox Nigeria reliably confirmed from a resident who plied the route on late Tuesday that the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) workers were spotted on the road doing some palliative works.
It will be recalled that Federal lawmaker, Hon Babajimi Benson of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency had facilitated plans for the rehabilitation following a motion moved on the floor of the House of Representatives after several complaints were lodged by his Constituents. After exchanging letters with the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, the road was listed in the 2017 Budget, among other roads to be rehabilitated in South West region.
As at the time of filing this report, BBN can’t confirm if the FERMA workers are only on the road for patching some bad spots or will carry out full rehabilitation on the total length of the road. Findings by BBN revealed that about N2billion was earmarked for the road by the Works Ministry.
