Rep. Babajimi Benson’s iCare Foodbank brings succour to Ikorodu residents for Easter

It was an Easter to remember for some vulnerable families in Ikorodu, Lagos as the lawmaker representing the Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Benson doled out food items to 500 households through his iCARE Foodbank programme.

The iCARE Foodbank is an initiative of Rep Benson’s iCare Foundation that distributes food and grocery products to individuals and vulnerable families within Ikorodu Division on monthly basis. These items which are packaged in a bag called ‘APO AANU’ are handed over to vulnerable families in Ikorodu. Since its creation, the Foodbank has fed over 30,000 households in Ikorodu in five years.

The gesture was in line with his mandate to ensure that no family in his constituency goes to bed hungry, particularly in this festive period.

The latest edition, like previous ones, was held on Saturday, April 16, at the lawmaker’s constituency office along Ebute – Igbogbo road, Ikorodu.

Rep. Benson himself was present in person to witness the event. The lawmaker who recently celebrated his 50th birthday was presented with gifts from political groups such as the six Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government Areas (LGAs), among others.

Representatives of the groups who spoke at the program commended the distinguished legislator for delivering quality representation to the good people of Ikorodu, while calling for support for him as he seeks a third term in office.

The latest beneficiaries of the Foodbank programme were not left out as they were full of prayers for Rep. Benson.
