Rep. Babajimi Benson Flags Off 47th Road Construction In Ikorodu Within 6 Years

Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives for Ikorodu federal constituency, is not relenting in his drive for infrastructure renewal in Ikorodu as he flags off the construction of Oriokuta Road in Imota, which will on completion connect to Odelemo in Sagamu, Ogun State. This new road makes it the 47th road facilitated by the rep member in about 6 years.

This project is part of his efforts to upgrade the road network in the constituency, having already completed several roads including Agbele community road, Erunwen Road, Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, Igbogbo Passport Office Road, Lambo Lasuwon Road, Offin-Oreta, Odogunyan, and Lucky Fibre, Oshin Ladega Street, Agbala, Amudat Jokomba Street, Olokunola Street, Oladunjoye Oriola Street (Better food), Oguntuga Street, Igbeyin Adun Street, Olaore Oshikoya Street, Ayodele Ayeni Street, Giwa Efugbotu Street and Adeyiga Street (Benson Estate linking Munirat Aleje and Benson Bus Stop). among others.

The construction of Oriokuta Road, along with other roads such as Apeje, Amugbase, Ogunnowwo, Tanimola, Olugayan, Iradelu, and Olufoworosete road, will have a significant impact on the community, providing easy access to Ogun State via Odelemo and improving economic development through new business opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Mr Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Director General of iCare Foundation representing Rep. Babajimi Benson praised the honourable’s dedication to improving the road network in each local government, emphasizing the importance of economic development.

He highlighted the benefits of the project, including the installation of solar street lights, which will enhance safety and stimulate night commerce, ultimately increasing property value.

Mayor Deen urged community members to collaborate with the contractor to ensure the safety of workers and take ownership of the project upon completion by protecting and safeguarding the road.

HRM Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, commended Babajimi Benson for his commitment to supporting the people of Ikorodu and its environs.
