Police arrest 5 members of notorious armed robbers syndicate in Abuja

The Federal Capital Terittory Police Operatives, Saturday, arrested five suspects in connection with the death of one Mohammed Danjuma, whose remains were recovered around the Gwagwa-Kagini axis of Abuja on March 16, 2020, Blackboxnigeria gathered.

The Comissioner of Police, CP Bala Ciroma, while briefing newsmen at the FCT command, stated that the suspects, whose names are undisclosed, are members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate that poses as a cab operator to rob unsuspecting victims.

Adding that the deceased boarded the syndicate’s cab as a passenger from Berger to Tipper Garage, Katampe.

“Findings indicated that he was diverted by the assailants to an unknown destination where he was attacked with a wheel spanner.

“The deceased was disposed of his valuables, including his ATM card, which was subsequently used by the gang to withdraw money from his account.

“A golden colored Mazda 626 car, with registration number; CF 123-ksf was recovered from the suspects.” CP Ciroma said.

Acting on intelligence report, the command also arrested 12 suspects in connection to kidnapping activities around the Bwari, Abaji, and Kwali axis of Abuja.

17 rounds of live ammunition,4 dane guns, 1 locally made pistol, 1 military camouflage uniforms, motorcycles,5 ATM cards, 2 sim cards and packs, and 4 mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.
